Hyderabad: The special session of the Telangana Assembly, which was scheduled to begin, has been postponed. As soon as the session started at 11 AM, Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu requested Speaker Prasad Kumar to postpone the session due to a Cabinet meeting. The planning department handed over the important socioeconomic survey report related to reservations for BCs in local bodies to the BC Cabinet sub-committee on Sunday. This report is expected to be presented by a subcommittee at a Cabinet meeting in the Assembly Hall, chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The one-member commission on SC categorization, headed by Justice Shameem Akhtar, also submitted its report to the sub-committee on Monday. Both reports are to be discussed and approved by the Cabinet, after which they will be presented for discussion in the Assembly and Council.

Meanwhile, the government is set to present reports on caste enumeration and SC categorization in the Assembly. Prior to this, a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took place, and the reports were reportedly approved. However, as the meeting continued, Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu requested Speaker Prasad Kumar to postpone the session. As a result, the session was deferred until 2 PM.
